We offer palliative care to patients with advanced and progressive life threatening disease, particularly those suffering from cancer, and support for their relatives and carers in an atmosphere of calm with tenderness, care and quiet efficiency.
The hospice is the main specialist palliative care unit for the communities of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley, serving a population of some 385,000.

East Lancashire Hospice is an independent organisation providing specialist palliative care services to patients who live in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
This is a new post that has been developed to integrate into an expanding medical workforce at the hospice and to support the newly appointed medical director and consultant in palliative medicine. The post would appeal to those who are looking to develop a career in palliative medicine.
