"A special way of caring"

The therapies are used alongside the orthodox medical treatment and are part of the supportive care offered to patients.
Which therapies are available?
The therapies service offers:
All the therapies are provided by qualified, experienced therapists.
Psychological support services in cancer care.
The impact of a life threatening illness can be devastating not only physically but mentally and emotionally too.
Psychotherapy gives the patient the opportunity to talk through their problems at length which can be beneficial in itself. Supportive psychotherapy enables patients to address, and thereby lessen the mental and emotional upheaval that a life threatening diagnosis can unleash. The therapy can also help the patients increase their coping skills.
Psychotherapy treatments can also incorporate hypnotherapy which allows patients to learn how to use hypnosis to achieve deep relaxation. This in turn may be beneficial in helping to increase the levels of white blood cells or coping with the side affects of chemotherapy.
Aromatherapy.
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils and massage. The essential oils have unique therapeutic quailities-calming, relaxing or uplifting which can affect the mood of the patient. Other effects include the analgesic, anti-inflammatory or antiseptic properties which can be used to treat a wide range of problems. The therapist will select a blend of oils specific to each patient and use them for the massage. It may be back, arms or legs depending on what the patient prefers.
Reflexology.
Reflexology involves gentle contact on the feet or hands. The therapy is based on the belief that the different area's of the feet and hands are related to different parts of the body. The therapist applies light pressure to those area's with the thumb and fingers to restore a state of balance and relaxation. It is very safe, non-invasive therapy which works alongside the body's own healing process to help achieve a state of balance and improve general health and well-being.
Reiki.
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy. Reiki therapists are trained to focus the energy and think of it flowing through their hands. Reiki is very simple, safe and non-invasive therapy and the person recieving it remains fully clothed
